This year event drew 252 male and female wrestlers in 19 delegations nationwide. The athletes competed under scoring system with direct elimination at three categories of classic male wrestling (11 weight groups from 48 to 130kg), freestyle male wrestling (11 weight groups from 50 to 125kg) and freestyle female wrestling (11 weight groups from 44 to 76kg).

Wrestler Ngo Van Vuong (podium No.2) is awarded with silver medal at the championships.

The event is held to further promote the wrestling practice movement among the youngster across the nation while offering the sport delegations and athletes chances to exchange experiences and solidarity.

20 athletes from Bac Giang delegation joined the championships and bagged 3 silver, 3 bronze medals. The silver winners were Giap Van Vinh at men’s classic wrestling (weight group of 82kg); Ngo VanVuong at men’s classic wrestling (weight group of 59kg) and Than Thi Anh at women’s freestyle wrestling (weight group of 68kg).
