According a report by the people’s committee of Viet Yen district and Sai Gon- Bac Giang Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, the investor of Quang Chau industrial park, Quang Chau industrial park has total area of 426 hectares, in which 336 hectares have been completed land clearance while 90 hectares are in land clearance process.

Of the 90 hectares in land clearance process, 991 per 1,331 households have been paid compensation for more than 64 hectares worth total 120 billion VND (5.178 million USD). Besides, 33.84 hectares have been changed purposes and for lease by the provincial people’s committee. The rest 331 households have not signed in the dossiers and received compensation for more than 17 hectares.

According to some opinions at the meeting, the land clearance progress of Quang Chau industrial park remains slow because a number of households request for serviced land and increased land compensation rates when the government acquires land for project implementation. In addition, some owners of contracted farming land nearby canals want to be compensated for the increased land according to the land allocation book.

After a site inspection and listening to the report, the provincial Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan urged the people’s committee of Viet Yen district and Sai Gon- Bac Giang Industrial Park Joint Stock Company to better advocacy and hold direct dialogues with local people to promptly surmount obstacles and achieve consensus to timely hand over ground to the investors.

He stressed the district people’s committee needs to make a plan with clear schedule for implementation and conduct ground handover of the rest land area in Van Coc 3 village, Van Trung commune no later than 15 March.

The other villages of Van Trung commune and Nenh township were urged to promptly complete land clearance. The provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment was requested to collaborate with Viet Yen district to timely remove obstacles and accelerate land clearance progress of the rest land area in Quang Chau industrial park to better investment attraction and industrial development of the province.
