According to the decision of the Prime Minister approving the detailed planning of the Ring Road 5 of the Hanoi Capital Region, this route will pass through eight provinces and cities. In Bac Giang, it will run through Luc Nam, Yen Dung, Lang Giang and Tan Yen districts. The road is more than 331 km long, with 51.3 km in Bac Giang province.

The Son Tay - Phu Ly - Bac Giang section will be built according to the expressway standard, with the width of the 6-lane section measuring 33 m, and the 4-lane section 25.5 m. The Bac Giang - Thai Nguyen - Vinh Phuc section will follow the standard of grade-3 motorway, with a width of 22.5 m and four lanes.

The project is expected to cost more than 85.5 trillion VND (3.7 billion USD), to be mobilized from the State budget, Government bonds, official development assistance (ODA) and local budgets.

Authorized by the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Director of the Department of Transport Bui The Son said the leaders of Bac Giang province are determined to implement the Ring Road 5 project – section through the locality. The province has approved the investment plan for its first phase with over 2.2 trillion VND (95.5 million USD). However, the implementation is facing difficulties in capital. Bac Giang province has proposed the Government support the locality in investment capital. It also asked the Ministry of Transport to allow the expansion of Xuong Giang Bridge and Nhu Nguyet Bridge to match the scale of the Bac Giang - Hanoi Expressway, and National Road 37; and the separation of the road and railway at Cam Ly Bridge (Luc Nam district).

Concluding the conference, Minister Nguyen Van The emphasized that the Ring Roads 4 and 5 are important road axes drawing special attention. When the roads are completed, they will create conditions to promote socio-economic development, industry and urban areas in localities where they run through. The Ministry of Transport will acquire opinions raised by the provinces and cities to better the project implementation. However, the localities should follow the design and minimize adjustments that make the roads curved.

The provinces and cities need to take advantage of capital sources, especially the local budget, and strive to connect and maximize the efficiency of the routes. They should do well the communication and mobilization work in site clearance to soon implement the project. In the coming time, the Ministry of Transport will continue to work with the provinces and cities to clarify difficulties facing them and take effective response measures.

Bac Giang to soon put new industrial parks into operation

(BGO) - As the existing industrial parks in Bac Giang province have been basically filled, in order to promptly expand the land fund to attract investment, the Prime Minister has recently approved the proposal of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to adjust the IP development planning of the province.
