Bac Giang’s authority appeals guest workers in Korea to repatriate on time
Vice Director of Center of Overseas Labor Nguyen Gia Liem discusses at the conference. |
The event was attended by COL Deputy Director Nguyen Gia Liem; leaders of Luc Nam, Lang Giang and Yen Dung districts (the localities have several violated cases who keep working in RoK illegally despite the expired contract) and some relatives of the violated labors.
According to the DoLISA’report, the province has over 2,100 labors currently working in RoK under EPS programme. Though many solutions have been conducted, there are 528 illegal labors residing in the country. The rate of guest workers with the expired contract has hit 41.3 percent since the beginning of this year.
In May 2017, the RoK put three districts of Luc Nam, Yen Dung
At the conference, Nguyen Gia Liem pressed that the workers with expired contracts do not return to the hometown mostly because of poor legal compliance and individual benefit. Any locality with a high rate of illegal labors (over 30 percent) might be prohibited to work abroad, causing great impact on the signed agreement between the two nations.
Actually, the host side has postponed the EPS programme several times since 2012 – 2016 that means thousands of labors in Vietnam in general and in Bac Giang, in particular, could lose many chances of attractive jobs in the potential market.
Also, many representatives said it is necessary to research and apply more serious regulations on handling the violated cases.
The conference attracts many labors. |
After summarizing the discussion, Nguyen The Dung, Vice Director of DoLISA concluded that the departments, sectors and localities will boost up the propaganda and popularize the legal policy about labor export while actively coordinating with the People’s Committees in the districts and city to call for each family of labors whose contract will be expired soon or who are residing illegally in RoK to persuade their relatives to repatriate on time.
In addition, the provincial Job Service Center should organize more job transaction sessions to link and create the job to the labors when returning to the hometown meanwhile the COL should improve the quality of selection, training and fostering the essential knowledge to the employers before going to work overseas.
