Bac Ninh awarded by PM for achievements in eliminating temporary housing
BAC NINH – The Central Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing on August 26 held a nationwide online conference to review the 2025 programme and emulation movement “The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary housing”. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, head of the steering committee, chaired the meeting.
At the Bac Ninh provincial site were Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee and provincial Party Secretary; Vuong Quoc Tuan, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

According to government data, Vietnam has basically completed its target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing, five years ahead of schedule.
More than 334,200 houses have been rebuilt or repaired nationwide with a total investment of nearly 50 trillion VND (about 2.2 billion USD).
Localities across the country mobilized significant additional resources beyond central government allocations.
In Bac Ninh, by the end of June 2025, the province had supported the construction and repair of more than 2,500 houses, with funding exceeding 150 billion VND and completed the programme’s goals within the year.
On this occasion, many organizations and individuals received awards for their contributions.
Bac Ninh province was presented with a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its achievements in implementing the programme and movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in 2025.
