According to government data, Vietnam has basically completed its target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing, five years ahead of schedule.

More than 334,200 houses have been rebuilt or repaired nationwide with a total investment of nearly 50 trillion VND (about 2.2 billion USD).

Localities across the country mobilized significant additional resources beyond central government allocations.

In Bac Ninh, by the end of June 2025, the province had supported the construction and repair of more than 2,500 houses, with funding exceeding 150 billion VND and completed the programme’s goals within the year.

On this occasion, many organizations and individuals received awards for their contributions.

Bac Ninh province was presented with a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its achievements in implementing the programme and movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in 2025.

Bac Giang completes programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

BAC GIANG – Bac Giang province has completed its programme to eradicate temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule, ensuring better living conditions for poor and disadvantaged people, provincial authorities said on June 28, 2025.

262,843 temporary, dilapidated houses nationwide eliminated

As of June 22, 2025, a total of 262,843 temporary and dilapidated houses had been eliminated nationwide, reaching 94.7% of the set target.

 

21 localities no longer have temporary or dilapidated houses

The Ministry of Ethnic Minority and Religious Affairs (MERA) said that as of the end of June 7, a total of 21 localities nationwide no longer have temporary or dilapidated houses.

 

Bac Giang to finish eliminating temporary houses in June 2025

BAC GIANG - After inspecting the progress of the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, the provincial Steering Committee of Bac Giang province requested the steering committees for eradicating temporary and dilapidated housing of the districts, townships and city to continue concentrating on communicating, mobilizing and accelerating approved cases to start construction before 15 June 2025.

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.
