BAC NINH - Bac Ninh province on March 28 broke ground on the construction of Van Ha Bridge, connecting Van Ha and Kinh Bac wards, in a move aimed at improving regional transport links and boosting socio-economic development.

The project is being implemented in Van Ha and Kinh Bac wards by the Bac Ninh No.1 Transport and Agriculture Project Management Board. It includes two main components: the bridge and access roads.

The bridge will stretch more than 342 metres in length and 22 metres in width. It is designed as a permanent reinforced concrete structure, combining conventional and prestressed concrete, along with related auxiliary works.

The approach road will extend over 268 metres, also 22 metres wide, with a 12-metre-wide concrete pavement. The design includes both transverse and longitudinal drainage systems using reinforced concrete pipes and box culverts.

Total investment for the project exceeds 360 billion VND (13.6 million USD), funded by the provincial budget.

Construction is being carried out by a consortium of HJC Investment-Construction Group JSC and Thang Long Bridge No.3 JSC. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by September 2027.

Once completed, the bridge is expected to facilitate economic, cultural and social exchanges, strengthen disaster prevention and rescue efforts, and serve as a key driver of the province’s socio-economic growth.
