Bac Ninh builds sustainable rental housing ecosystem

Updated: 10:45, 23/06/2026

BAC NINH - Bac Ninh province is implementing a range of measures to expand the supply of social housing, rental housing and worker accommodation, following the Vietnamese government's directive on developing affordable rental housing.

As one of Vietnam's leading industrial hubs, Bac Ninh attracts hundreds of thousands of workers from across the country.

Buildings under the Van Trung social housing project, developed by Fugiang Co., Ltd. for long-term rental, have recently been inaugurated and put into operation.

Rapid industrial growth has increased demand for stable, safe and affordable housing, which local authorities say is essential not only for social welfare but also for retaining workers and maintaining the province's attractiveness to investors.

The provincial People's Committee has instructed relevant agencies, localities and businesses to accelerate rental housing projects.

Bac Ninh currently has about 5,200 social housing units for rent, 3,487 worker accommodation units in industrial parks, and nearly 13,900 privately built boarding houses, providing a significant supply of housing for workers.

In addition, four worker accommodation projects with more than 5,200 apartments are under development, expected to further increase housing availability in the coming years.

Alongside project implementation, the province is reviewing land resources, refining policies and removing investment bottlenecks to encourage businesses to participate in developing social and rental housing.

Bac Ninh has also established a housing fund with planned charter capital of 1 trillion VND (38 million USD) to support the development of social rental housing.

The fund is intended to create a stable, long-term supply of rental homes for workers, experts and other residents in need of housing.

Authorities are reviewing 256 land plots covering more than 753 hectares for social and rental housing development during the 2026-2030 period, creating a long-term land reserve for future projects.

New worker accommodation projects are being developed in key industrial parks, including Quang Chau, Nam Son-Hap Linh, Gia Binh and VSIP Bac Ninh II, as part of efforts to build a synchronized housing system linked to industrial development.

With a strategy of combining industrial expansion with social welfare, Bac Ninh aims to establish a diverse social and rental housing ecosystem, improve living standards for workers and support sustainable economic growth.
