Bac Ninh CDC becomes first in Vietnam's CDC system to receive GLP certification
BAC NINH - The Bac Ninh Center for Disease Control (CDC) has become the first provincial CDC in Vietnam to receive Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certification, marking a significant milestone in strengthening laboratory testing capacity and quality management.
The certification, granted by the Drug Administration of Vietnam under the Ministry of Health, recognizes that the center's testing laboratory meets national standards for laboratory operations.

GLP is a system of principles and standards designed to ensure laboratories comply with requirements covering facilities, equipment, personnel and quality management systems. The certification not only validates the laboratory's professional capabilities but also ensures the accuracy and reliability of pharmaceutical and food testing, supporting public health management and healthcare services.
To meet GLP requirements, Bac Ninh CDC launched a comprehensive upgrade of its testing laboratory at its second campus in Vo Cuong Ward in 2024.
Alongside infrastructure investment, the center strengthened staff capacity and enhanced its quality management system. Personnel from specialized departments received formal GLP training, with 10 staff members now qualified to directly operate the laboratory under GLP standards.
The GLP certification provides a foundation for the center to further expand its testing capabilities, meet both domestic and international quality standards, and improve healthcare services across Bac Ninh Province.
