Bac Ninh exports set new record
BAC NINH - Despite the global trade downturn, by taking advantage of the window before the US reciprocal tariff policy takes effect, enterprises in Bac Ninh province have optimised their resources to “weather the tariff storm” and drive export growth. Its export turnover in September reached 8.46 billion USD, up 22.7% year-on-year.
With this result, Bac Ninh surpassed Ho Chi Minh City (7.6 billion USD) and set a new record, maintaining its position as the country’s leading exporter for three consecutive months.

By capitalising on favourable tariff policies, open investment conditions, and leveraging its strengths as “the modern industrial capital of Northern Vietnam,” Bac Ninh has demonstrated stability and strong breakthroughs in industrial development.
Although global markets remain challenging and volatile, the province’s strategy of market diversification, technological innovation, and continuous adaptation to consumer trends has powered its export growth in 2025, affirmed Vuong Quoc Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
Bac Ninh has focused on developing green and sustainable industrial zones and clusters, while supporting enterprises in logistics, import-export activities, and market diversification, creating a favourable environment for production and business.
In the first nine months of 2025, total import-export turnover was estimated at 129.3 billion USD. Of this, exports reached 65.7 billion USD (up 26.4% year-on-year) and imports 63.5 billion USD (up 36.5%), resulting in a trade surplus of 2.2 billion USD. Now, Bac Ninh ranks second nationwide in export turnover, after Ho Chi Minh City.
Export growth has been driven by key product groups such as computers, electronic products, mobile phones, and components. Taking advantage of new tariff opportunities, major corporations including Samsung, Canon, Foxconn, and Goertek have continued their upward momentum since July and August, reinforcing Bac Ninh’s role as a national leader in high-tech exports.
Alongside industrial exports, Bac Ninh’s agricultural exports also show promising potential. The province currently has 1,375 agricultural cooperatives, of which 8% are engaged in border trade and 30% supply inputs for import-export enterprises.
Notably, lychee exports reached a record 78,200 tonnes this year. This success serves as a valuable lesson in shifting to deep processing, brand building, and meeting green standards.
According to Nguyen Dinh Hieu, Director of the Department of Finance, export results reflect the concerted efforts of authorities at all levels, sectors, localities, and the business community under the close guidance of both the central and provincial governments, contributing significantly to economic growth.
Bac Ninh aims for an export value of 81.5 billion USD in 2025, a demanding goal that requires strong determination from the entire political system, enterprises, and industry associations.
To achieve this target, administrative reform and improvement of the business environment must remain at the core of economic management. The province will continue to strengthen relations with foreign partners and international organizations to expand cooperation opportunities through free trade agreements (FTAs) and new export markets.
Enterprises are encouraged to be proactive in production and export, integrating more deeply into global supply chains.
Trade promotion efforts will be intensified through both online and in-person channels, especially by connecting domestic enterprises with foreign import-export companies to enhance competitiveness, diversify raw material sources and export markets, and reduce dependence on a few key destinations.
The province will also continue implementing economic restructuring solutions based on the rule of law and a modern market economy, promoting production and exports to create new growth momentum for the coming period.
