Bac Ninh fruit festival 2025 boosts trade exchange, strengthens agro-tourism links
BAC NINH - The Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025 is under way at Chu Ward Central Square, creating a lively atmosphere and drawing strong visitor flows.
During the first three days of the event (December 5–7), the square remained crowded as cooperatives, businesses and orchard owners showcased a wide range of local produce.

Booths were arranged in a structured layout, featuring specialty fruits, OCOP products, handicrafts, apparel and consumer goods. Visitor numbers rose not only due to shopping demand but also thanks to the growing appeal of emerging garden-tourism models.
A key highlight this year is the surge in enterprise visitors and tourists joining field trips to local orchards. Citrus gardens, including orange, red pomelo, green-skin pomelo and Dien pomelo, in Chu, Phuong Son and the communes of Luc Ngan, Kien Lao and Deo Gia have become busy destinations.
Visitors can observe farming practices, take part in harvesting and taste fruit on site. For businesses, the surveys provide clearer assessments of product quality, farm scale and supply capacity, laying the groundwork for long-term cooperation.
Tran Dinh En, an orchard owner in Tan Truong residential group (Chu Ward), said his 1.5-ha pomelo garden has sold more than one tonne of green-skin pomelos since the festival opened, priced at 35,000 VND/kg. His Dien pomelo crop will be ready in 20 days, but traders from Hanoi have already placed deposits.
Many orchard owners reported a sharp increase in visitors, including representatives from supermarket chains and clean-food distributors. Some companies proposed stable purchasing partnerships and offered advice on technical standards, packaging and labelling to improve market value.
Organisers said these direct meetings between producers, distributors and consumers are helping to build a more effective supply chain.

The provincial Department of Industry and Trade said strong purchasing activity at the event underscores the market position of Bac Ninh’s farm products. Tens of tonnes of oranges and pomelos, along with large volumes of consumer goods and apparel, were sold in the first three days.
Folk-song performances, fruit-based cooking demonstrations and cultural showcases also drew large audiences, blending the traditions of Kinh Bac with the region’s emerging garden-tourism identity.
As part of the festival, a seminar on agricultural processing technologies, fertiliser products and biological pesticides was held on December 7 in Chu Ward.
The festival will run until December 10. With promising early results, the event is expected to boost the branding of local specialties, strengthen north-south trade links and reinforce Bac Ninh’s growing position in Vietnam’s agricultural tourism landscape.
