The project was designed with a new 220kV substation at a capacity of 1 x 250 MVA and grid connection lines. The total investment is 370.7 billion VND (14.05 million USD) by NPMB.

Representatives of the people’s committee of Mao Dien ward, investor and contractor perform the ritual to kick off the Bac Ninh No 5 220kV substation and grid connection line project.

The project location is in Mao Dien ward. The joint venture of PC1 My Dinh and PC1 Thang Long joint stock companies is contractor of the project. The project is scheduled to be completed and come into operation in Q4 2026.

After coming into operation, the project will help to ease burden for the Bac Ninh 220kV and Bac Ninh 2 220kV substations while increasing power supply capacity for urban areas, industrial parks and 110kV substations in Thuan Thanh and Gia Binh. It also contributes to enhancing reliability and stable operation of the Northern power grid system.

The project commencement is an important step in enhancing the capacity of power transmission grids in Bac Ninh province, contributing to meeting power demand for socio-economic development and ensuring safe and stable operation of the national power system.

PM stresses principle of mutual benefit in nuclear power project negotiations
