Founded in 1997, Sunwoda is a multinational technology company and one of China's top 500 enterprises. The company manufactures lithium-ion batteries for consumer electronics, electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

Sunwoda has ranked first globally in battery production revenue for seven consecutive years.

By 2026, the group had invested more than 280 million USD in Bac Ninh, with projects located in Yen Lu, Van Trung and Hoa Phu industrial parks. Its revenue in the province reached about 3.9 trillion VND (148.4 million USD) in 2026.

The company asked the province to provide support in ensuring a stable power supply, recruiting skilled workers and facilitating immigration procedures for foreign experts.

The PPC Chairman said Bac Ninh is one of Vietnam's key economic regions and a major industrial hub. The province is home to more than 3,600 foreign-invested enterprises with total registered investment exceeding 50 billion USD from 46 countries and territories.

Chinese companies rank third in total registered investment. He thanked Sunwoda for choosing Bac Ninh as an investment destination and welcomed the group's initial business achievements.

The provincial leader said Bac Ninh still has significant room for growth, with plans for 75 industrial parks covering 25,000 hectares.

The province is prioritizing investment in high-tech industries, including semiconductor and chip manufacturing, while promoting the development of green and eco-industrial parks.

Also, local abundant and well-trained workforce, supported by universities and colleges, together with its business-friendly administration, has helped the province rank among Vietnam's top five localities for governance quality.

The province is expected to become a centrally governed city, creating new policy incentives and development resources that will provide long-term investment opportunities for businesses.

PPC Chairman Pham Hoang Son said Bac Ninh would provide maximum support for Sunwoda to expand investment, research, production and business activities, while fostering stronger cooperation with local enterprises.

Provincial agencies addressed the company's proposals and provided guidance on relevant administrative procedures.

The province also pledged to ensure all necessary conditions for Sunwoda's operations, with particular attention to maintaining a reliable electricity supply, one of the company's key concerns.
