All of 8 Vietnamese students bagged medals at AphO 2026 including 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. Ta Ngoc Minh ranked 2nd with 37 points.

With 6 silver and 2 bronze medals, Vietnam was among top 8 delegations gaining highest results and top 5 with all contestants winning medals including RoK, China, Taiwan, Russia and Vietnam.

Ta Ngoc Minh won first prize at the national contest for excellent students in Physics for 2 consecutive years (2024 and 2025). He was also highly evaluated by professors in Hanoi for his knowledge during the preparation time for the 2nd round.

The APhO 2026 closing and awarding ceremony is scheduled on 24 May 2026 in Busan, RoK.

Based on the APhO 2026 results and the results at the 2nd round, the Ministry of Education and Training will select 5 contestants with highest achievements to attend International Physics Olympiad in Colombia from 4 to 12 July, 2026.

All four Vietnamese students sweep medals at Moscow int’l chemistry olympiad

Specifically, two gold medals were awarded to Ngo Hoang Minh, a 12th-grade student at Hanoi–Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, who placed second overall; and Nguyen Thai Minh, an 11th-grade student at the High School for Gifted Students under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi), who ranked 11th.
