The programme, organised online and funded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), provides shopping vouchers that can be used to buy essential consumer goods ahead of the Lunar New Year. Products mainly include household items such as pots, pans, bowls and plates, along with confectionery.

This year, the VGCL allocated more than 8,200 vouchers to union members and officials in Bac Ninh, each worth 500,000 VND.

Beneficiaries include workers with outstanding performance records, those actively involved in trade union activities, and employees facing difficult circumstances or earning low incomes.

Vouchers can be used to purchase goods via the programme’s official website or mobile application, jointly operated by the VGCL. Industrial parks receiving large allocations include Quang Chau with more than 1,500 vouchers, Que Vo with over 1,100, Van Trung with more than 1,000 and Yen Phong with 800.

The initiative is part of efforts to expand welfare programmes for trade union members, particularly during the Lunar New Year period.

Government to provide cash gifts to social policy beneficiaries ahead of Tet 2026

People who rendered meritorious services to the revolution, those entitled to social protection, and social pensioners as defined by respective national ordinances, and decrees, together with orphans without guardians or those living in orphanages will receive a cash gift of 400,000 VND (15.2 USD) per person on the occasion of the 14th National Party Congress and the 2026 Lunar New Year (the Year of the Horse).

 

Vietnam Red Cross Society launches Tet gift campaign

The campaign aims to mobilise social resources to support 1.5 million disadvantaged individuals, including people with disabilities, the elderly, orphaned children and those affected by natural disasters, for the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
