Bac Ninh to invest over 1.4 trillion VND in Kim Chan Bridge project

Updated: 16:23, 02/06/2026

BAC NINH - Bac Ninh authorities have approved an investment policy for the construction of Kim Chan Bridge and its approach roads, a project worth more than 1.47 trillion VND (55.8 million USD) funded by the provincial budget, as the northern industrial hub seeks to strengthen transport connectivity and support economic growth.

According to the provincial People's Committee, the project will provide a direct transport link between several major industrial parks, including Song Khe–Noi Hoang, Quang Chau, Van Trung, Dinh Tram, Viet Han and Que Vo.

The bridge is expected to ease traffic pressure on roads running alongside the Hanoi–Bac Giang Expressway, Provincial Road 398, National Highway 37 and the Nhu Nguyet Bridge area on the Hanoi–Lang Son Expressway.

Authorities said the project would improve connections between urban and industrial zones, reduce congestion and enhance traffic safety and transport capacity across the region.

The Kim Chan Bridge project will be built across the Cau River, connecting Nenh Ward and Vu Ninh Ward, and will cover an area of nearly 6 hectares.

The starting point will connect to a planned route within the Quang Chau 2 Industrial Park in Nenh ward, while the endpoint will link to a planned road in the Southeastern urban development area of former Bac Ninh City (Vu Ninh ward).

The total length of the route will be about 0.93 kilometres. Investment preparations are scheduled for 2026, with construction expected to take place between 2026 and 2029.

Once completed, the project is expected to improve freight transportation efficiency and strengthen links among industrial parks, creating favourable conditions for investment attraction, particularly from foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises and international experts seeking opportunities in Bac Ninh.
