Bac Ninh: Training partnerships meet corporate workforce demand

Updated: 14:23, 22/10/2025

BAC NINH - As many sectors face a shortage of skilled workers, companies are partnering with vocational training institutions in the northern province of Bac Ninh to develop “order-based training” programmes. This approach not only helps businesses secure a ready-to-work labor force but also enables students to gain hands-on experience and improve their technical skills.

Recently, the Vietnam Korea College of Technology of Bac Giang (VK Tech) has collaborated with Seojin Vietnam Co., Ltd in Song Khe – Noi Hoang Industrial Park to organize practical training programs aligned with corporate standards.

Key technical managers from the company participate directly in teaching practical sessions.

The college also worked with Goertek Vina Science and Technology Co., Ltd. In Que Vo 1 Industrial Park to offer intensive training on smart electronic device production lines for 25 third-year students majoring in automation, industrial electricity, industrial electronics, and mechatronics.

Nguyen Cong Thong, principal of VK Tech said: “The college is currently cooperating with more than 100 corporations and enterprises across fields such as semiconductors, electronics, automotive technology, mechanical engineering and industrial electronics. We are implementing a training programme in which 70% of study time is devoted to practical sessions, with at least 40% conducted at enterprises. Businesses are also invited to participate in designing the curriculum and teaching selected modules to ensure that the programme meets professional standards.”

Many vocational institutions are also joining hands with businesses to expand into new disciplines related to technology, engineering and digital transformation.

For example, Hana Micron Vina Co., Ltd in Van Trung Industrial Park has partnered with vocational colleges in Bac Ninh Province to offer specialized training in integrated circuit design.

Other enterprises such as Foxconn Technology Group, Luxshare ICT Co., Ltd., and Lens Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. are investing in orientation programmes, language courses for new employees, short-term training and talent development initiatives for final-year students and newly recruited workers.

Enterprises are involved from the early stages of program development, setting graduation standards and sending experts and engineers to teach and supervise practical sessions.

Students are given opportunities to intern at modern production lines, helping them develop industrial discipline and job-specific skills.

Beyond training, many colleges have signed labor supply contracts based on corporate “orders,” ensuring graduates secure employment immediately upon graduation while companies benefit from a skilled workforce that requires minimal retraining.
