Buidl Vietnam 2023 opens up investment opportunities

Buidl Vietnam 2023, the country's leading community festival for web3 builders and founders, is underway in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to foster a healthy and sustainable blockchain community, introduce and connect capable developers to the blockchain ecosystem in Vietnam.

Co-hosted by Krypto Vietnam and Krypto Seoul, the two-day event drew 70 speakers who are executives and founders of blockchain unicorns. They will present, discuss and offer solutions for infrastructure development, human resources quality and policy implications for Vietnam.

KryptoVietnam community was set up in 2021 to build a community of coders and product developers in Vietnam.

Buidl Vietnam 2023 will feature presentations, workshops, technology exhibitions and a hackathon for builders with awards totalling 1.5 billion VND (64,000 USD).

According to Erica Kang, co-founder of KryptoSeoul, this year Vietnam will still prove its attractiveness in the field of technology development and talent training in the blockchain and web3 industry.

Many international companies, projects, and speakers have registered to come to Vietnam to explore opportunities for cooperation, investment, human resources recruitment and brand promotion, she added.

Vietnam currently has more than 200 blockchain projects operating in many fields such as GameFi, DeFi and NFT, web3, infrastructure and wallets. The country has over 10 enterprises with market capitalisation at more than 100 million USD.

According to a forecast by MarketsandMarkets, the blockchain-related market in Vietnam can reach a value of nearly 2.5 billion USD by 2026, a five-fold increase from 2021.

Nocole Nguyen, a co-founder of Apac Dao - a community of web3 projects, said that Vietnam is considered the region's leading attractive technology convergence centre, especially with emerging technologies such as blockchain and web3.

They want to make Buidl Vietnam a festival for founders, product developers and technology enthusiasts who want to start building applications that are practical and highly innovative, she said, adding that this is also an opportunity for Vietnam to become an attractive destination and a technology cradle of the region.

Founded in 2018, KryptoSeoul looks to support global blockchain projects via holding online events and activities. In 2021, it established the KryptoVietnam community to build a community of coders and product developers in Vietnam.

Rice industry requires right investment
Vietnam’s rice exports reached 2.95 million tonnes with a turnover of 1.56 billion USD, in the first four months of 2023, up 43.6% in volume and 54.5% in value, over the same period in 2022, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
