Updated: 14:42, 09/08/2023
Park Hang-seo, who used to be Vietnam head coach from 2017-2023, has opened a football academy in Hanoi.

After his contract with Vietnam Football Federation expired in January 2023, Park still mainly lives and works in Vietnam. The South Korean coach opened an international football academy named after him in Hanoi earlier this month and started to recruit students.

"After many years of dedication and devotion to Vietnamese football, I'm very happy to establish this community academy with the target of nurturing young talents and taking Vietnamese youth football to the next level," Park said.

The Park Hang-seo Football Academy focuses on training children aged 5-15. The training team at the academy were all selected by Park himself from South Korea.

"Our motto is respect, love and develop. Our goal is to combine football training with character development, ensuring that our students excel both inside and outside the football field," Park said.

Park became the head coach of Vietnam in late 2017. Since then, he has achieved continuous success with second place at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, the 2018 AFF Cup title, a place in the quarterfinal of the 2019 Asian Cup, two SEA Games gold medals in 2019 and 2021, and helping the team advance to the final qualifiers of World Cup for the first time ever.
