Covid-19 testing - Race against time
Many localities and units provide timely aid
On the afternoon of May 16, leaders of the Hai Duong Medical Technical University sent 215 teachers and students to support Bac Giang province in the fight against Covid-19. These are students who have been equipped with knowledge about testing and ever performed the task of taking samples for testing during the recent outbreak in Hai Duong province.

Previously, Quang Ninh province also sent 200 officials, nurses, doctors, and medical workers from the Vietnam - Sweden Hospital in Uong Bi city and some modern equipment for sample collection and testing to support Bac Giang province. On the evening of May 16, 20 doctors and nurses from the Hanoi Department of Health were also present in the locality to help with pandemic prevention and control.
In the past few days, the provincial Military Command and the Chemical Battalion 23 (the Military Region 1 High Command) mobilized five disinfection vehicles and more than 30 officers and soldiers to spray disinfectant in industrial parks: Van Trung , Dinh Tram, Quang Chau, and Song Khe - Noi Hoang and My Dien residential area in Nenh township (Viet Yen district)...
Sleepless nights for testing
At noon on May 15, right after arriving in Bac Giang province from a long distance, a group of volunteer doctors from Quang Ninh province immediately moved to the Quang Chau Industrial Park (Viet Yen) to take samples of workers of Crystal Martin Vietnam Co., Ltd and Lens Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd for testing.
Thanks to the speedy sample collection and testing, as of noon on May 15, the medical force had collected more than 47,900 samples and conducted Covid-19 testing on more than 35,400 samples. |
With the sense of responsibility and the spirit of racing against time, by the evening of May 16, the medical team had collected more than 23,000 samples. All the above samples were transferred to the Vietnam - Sweden Hospital in Uong Bi for testing by Realtime RT-PCR method to detect the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
Meanwhile, the working delegation of Hai Duong province, in the evening of May 16, also embarked on the task of taking samples of residents in Nui Hieu village of Quang Chau commune; Trung Dong and Van Coc villages of Van Trung commune (Viet Yen district) with the determination to collect 20,000 samples per day.
With the spirit of "fighting the pandemic like fighting the enemy", the “white blouse” soldiers on the frontline came to key areas to take samples for testing, thus preventing the spread of the disease in the community. Previously, the provincial health sector mobilized all human resources to take samples for testing on a large scale at businesses, inns, villages and residential areas. Regardless of day and night, the doctors and nurses have put aside their own affairs and joined other forces on the frontline with the aim of early controlling and repelling the epidemic.

With the spirit of racing against time, as of 5pm on May 16, the province had collected more than 203,000 samples. In particular, from May 15 to 5pm on May 16, more than 61,000 samples were collected.
With the efforts of the provincial health sector and the effective and urgent support of the doctors, nurses and medical staff of other provinces and cities, as well as military units in quickly taking samples, testing, spraying disinfectant, and zoning off affected areas, it is believed that Bac Giang province will soon defeat the "Co vy" enemy.
