The delegation inspected flood prevention and control work in the communes of Yen The, Tien Luc and Phuc Hoa, where several areas were heavily inundated following days of torrential rain.

According to the provincial People’s Committee, from the night of October 6 to the evening of October 7, Bac Ninh experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall totaling between 200 and 300 millimeters.

On October 8, water levels on the Cau and Thuong rivers rose sharply, with the flood peak at Cau Son station surpassing the historic level by 0.58 meters late that night. Floodwaters at Phu Lang Thuong station were forecast to exceed the previous record by 0.23 meters.

In response, provincial authorities swiftly activated emergency flood control measures. Officials reviewed and monitored deeply flooded zones and areas at risk of landslides or flash floods, relocating residents — particularly the elderly, children and vulnerable groups — from danger zones to ensure safety.
