Dong Son bridge construction project is a key transportation project of the province. The construction was started in December 2023 with a total investment of 75 billion VND (over 3.17 million USD) from the provincial budget.

The Provincial Management Board of Investment and Construction Project on Transport and Agricultural Works is the investor. Thang Long Investment Construction Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) is the construction unit.

The project includes main items of a new bridge and its paths with a total length of about 0.92 km, of which the bridge is over 107 m long. The first end starts at the central intersection of Dong Son commune (Yen The district) while the other connects to the road from Dong Son bridge to provincial road 292, in Nghia Hoa commune (Lang Giang district).

The bridge is built to replace the old one with 12 meter bridge deck, reinforced concrete structure and prestressed reinforced concrete. The road bed is 12 m wide, the sidewalk is 5 m wide. The path is fully equipped with a drainage system, lighting, and traffic safety signs.

According to the investor, to date, 80 percent of the project progress has been done. These days, there are always 40 - 50 workers on the construction site focusing on the remaining construction items such as: pouring bridge decks, installing decking, railings, completing paths... All strives to complete and put the project into use in the third quarter of this year as planned.

Its completion helps people in Yen The district and Lang Giang district travel conveniently, solves the risk of traffic insecurity due to degraded old bridges and promotes socio-economic development of the two localities.
