Updated: 09:29, 08/10/2025

Livelihood assistance will also be provided such as breeding animals, crops, production tools, loans, vocational training, and market linkages, as well as house construction and repairs for poor families, contributing to the building of new-style rural areas and civilised urban communities.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Hanoi has issued an implementation plan for the “Month for the Poor 2025", which will run from October 17 to November 18 with a view to promoting solidarity and mobilising resources to support disadvantaged people across the capital.

At a ceremony announcing the completion of the programme to eliminate substandard housing for poor and near-poor households in Hanoi in 2024.

The campaign responds to the national emulation movement “For the Poor – Leaving No One Behind” for 2021–2025, following guidance from the VFF Central Committee.

It seeks to encourage organisations, enterprises, philanthropists, and citizens to contribute to the “Fund for the Poor” and social security activities, helping those in difficult circumstances overcome hardships and improve their lives.

According to the city’s plan, the campaign will focus on raising public awareness of its objectives, encouraging people from all social strata to donate to the Fund for the Poor and social security programmes, and ensuring that aid reaches the right beneficiaries including low-income households, the near-poor, the elderly living alone, orphans, and those suffering from serious illnesses.

Livelihood assistance will also be provided such as breeding animals, crops, production tools, loans, vocational training, and market linkages, as well as house construction and repairs for poor families, contributing to the building of new-style rural areas and civilised urban communities.

The campaign also aims to raise funds to build schools in border communes, adding resources for educational development in disadvantaged areas.

Each civil servant and public worker in the city is encouraged to donate at least one day’s salary. Outstanding organisations, businesses, and individuals will be commended for their contributions.

The city-level launching ceremony is scheduled for October 30, calling for active participation from the entire political system and the community.

The Hanoi VFF Committee will coordinate with the municipal People’s Committee to issue appeal letters, collect contributions, and publicise results through the media and social networks to ensure transparency.

At the grassroots level, VFF committees in communes and wards will work with local authorities to develop implementation plans, review beneficiaries carefully, and strengthen communication and fundraising efforts. Creative models using social media for outreach and support will continue to be expanded.
