According to preliminary assessment, Hiep Hoa district has met three out of five criteria and 50 out of 63 standards of a fourth-tier urban area with 71.04 out of minimum 75 points that needs to be achieved.

In fact, Hiep Hoa has created new breakthroughs. Over the past two years, the district has been implementing 85 projects, of which 15, with a total investment of about 120 billion VND (4.94 million USD), has been completed.

In the field of transportation, a project to build the road and bridge connecting Hiep Hoa district with Pho Yen city of Thai Nguyen province has basically completed the section from National Highway 37 to Provincial Road 296 while the remaining section is under construction.

The district has built Ha Bac 2 road and bridge connecting branch route No. 2 of Provincial Road 398 in Dong Lo commune with the Yen Phong Industrial Park and National Highway 18 of Bac Ninh province; a road linking Provincial Road 295 with Cau River dyke in Mai Dinh commune; and Ring Road 1 in Thang township. 

In particular, a new 8.5-km North-South road running through six communes and townships and connecting the district center with the Capital Region’s Ring Road 4 is expected to open up great opportunities for industrial, urban and services development.

In the industrial sector, in addition to expanding the first phase of the Hoa Phu Industrial Park with an area of 85 hectares, in 2023, the district has approved the subdivision plans for four industrial parks namely Hoa Yen, Xuan Cam - Huong Lam, Hoa Phu - Phase 2, and Chau Minh - Bac Ly - Huong Lam.

The district has established the 75-hectare Danh Thang - Doan Bai Industrial Cluster, increasing the total number of industrial clusters to 10. In addition, it has paid attention to directing specialized agencies to coordinate with investors to accelerate the construction of infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters such as Jutech, Vietnam - Japan, Thanh Van and Ha Thinh to lure more businesses.

In addition to realising the goal of promoting industrial development coupled with transport infrastructure construction, Hiep Hoa has also paid heed to fulfilling criteria set for a fourth-tier urban area.

Realising these criteria, a leader of the district People's Committee, in the coming time said the district will continue to focus heavily on building infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters, while prioritising the development of the urban transportation system. In 2024 alone, it will invest in building about 12 km of urban roads to the centers of communes which are planned to become wards in the future.

At the same time, Hiep Hoa will attract investment in building infrastructure in approved new urban areas and residential areas as well as commercial and service areas (mainly in two townships); developing production in established industrial zones and clusters to strongly transform the industry structure from agricultural production to non-agricultural production. It strives to have 60% of non-agricultural labor in urban areas by 2023, 75% by 2024, and 80% by 2025.
