Impressive lychee areas in Bac Giang
BAC GIANG - Every year, in May and June, Bac Giang is bustling with lychee harvests. This year, although the yield is not as high as in previous seasons, there are still many orchards laden with fruit. Grasping this opportunity, tourists from near and far have visited lychee orchards. They could not help but admire the beauty and sweetness of this famous fruit.
We arrived at Phuc Hoa commune, Tan Yen district on the occasion when a delegation from the southern provinces attending the 2024 National Youth Chess Championship hosted by Bac Giang province was visiting the ripe lychee orchard in Lan Thinh village.

All people were excited and took photos together next to the lychee branches. Ly Quoc Long, from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "Through electronic newspapers and the internet, I know that the Bac Giang lychee harvest season is coming. We rarely have the opportunity to visit the lychee area, so on this occasion, we went to contemplate lychee orchards. Seeing with our own eyes the lychee orchards that are not only beautiful but also display QR codes for origin traceability, showing that the production method of the local people is quite modern and professional. In particular, picking and tasting ripe red lychees right under the tree is a wonderful feeling."
According to Long, he has been to many gardens, but the lychee area in Bac Giang has its own characteristics: lychee trees are grown on rolling hills, have lush leaves and ripe red fruits spread evenly throughout the canopy, making them as beautiful as a painting.

As an agricultural expert from Israel, Shay Zeltzer said that this is the second year he has returned to the Bac Giang lychee region. Through talking with gardeners about the care process, he found this product to be very safe for users. For him, this is an extremely favourite fruit, one of the most delicious fruits he has ever enjoyed.
As a key area of the province for lychee production, tapping this advantage, Luc Ngan district has paid special attention to product quality, creating trust among customers.
According to a representative of the district Department of Culture and Information, since the beginning of the lychee season, the whole district has welcomed nearly 100 delegations from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, France, Australia, and the US. Many overseas Vietnamese have also combined visiting relatives and touring the lychee area. The number of international delegations and visitors doubled compared to the same time last year.
In previous years, visitors to the Luc Ngan lychee area mainly came from China. This year, in addition to international visitors coming to the district on tours organized by travel businesses, there are also delegations of Japanese, Chinese and Korean experts working in industrial parks of Bac Giang and many other localities such as Bac Ninh and Hanoi. During this year's lychee season, Luc Ngan is expected to welcome about 250,000 visitors, including about 5,500 foreigners, an increase of 30% compared to the 2023 crop.
Bac Giang has the largest lychee area in the country, with unique characteristics that are rarely found anywhere else, so it is increasingly attractive and wins love from domestic and international tourists.

In order to promote the tourism potential of the fruit growing area, recently, the Bac Giang Tourism Information and Promotion Center organized a survey on lychee season tours. Joining the delegation were representatives of the provincial Tourism Association and a number of travel agencies.
This survey aims to connect travel companies, businesses, and cooperatives to develop tours and tourist routes associated with agricultural tourism development, thereby attracting more domestic and foreign tourists to Bac Giang.
The Bac Giang lychee season is expected to end in late July. At this time, many tourist groups continue to come to Bac Giang and among the must-visit destinations are the hills of red and juicy lychees.
