Employment in state-owned enterprises rose 7.4% year-on-year, while the domestic private sector saw a decline of 4.68%, reflecting uneven recovery dynamics among business segments.
By sector, manufacturing and processing employment grew 10.58%, while jobs in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply increased 10.76%, the data showed.
Several sub-sectors recorded strong gains, including machinery and equipment manufacturing, up 46.2%; electrical equipment production, up 23.1%; textiles, up 22.8%; and paper and paper products, up 17.9%.
Bac Ninh, a major industrial hub that hosts global electronics manufacturers, is expected to need more than 230,000 new workers in 2026, primarily for electronics and high-tech industries.
To meet rising labour demand, companies are ramping up recruitment efforts with higher wages, bonuses, housing support and shuttle services. However, a shortage of skilled and highly qualified workers remains a key challenge.
Provincial authorities are stepping up vocational training links and improving labour market matching to better align supply with demand, aiming to sustain industrial growth.
