We happily selected Luc Ngan district as the destination for the fieldwork amid the lychee season. I used to visit this land several times ago and carefully wrote about the fruit hub of Bac Giang province.

Wonderfully, many famous fruit varieties from near and far were “immigrated” here then became more delicious such as Thanh Ha lychee and Vinh orange among others. Sometime I said Luc Ngan is the united nation of diverse Vietnamese fruit trees.
Luc Ngan is a wide district with biggest natural land area of over 101,000 ha in Bac Giang province. It also has big potential for tourism development thanks to various landform, integration of low and high mountains and hills together with a lot of beautiful lakes and springs like Cam Son lake, Khuon Than lake, Cam spring, Ta Cang spring…Moreover, the cool climate is specially suitable for developing peaceful and productive fruit area.

Additionally, Luc Ngan district is home to diverse cultural identities of many ethnic minority groups like Nung, San Diu, Cao Lan, Dao, Hoa and Kinh with famous folk songs of Sloong Hao, Sli, Then and Luon melodies.
The land has Am Vai pagoda and Ha temple which are attractive destinations for spiritual tourism lovers to pray for the goodness and peace. Meanwhile, local cuisine is an indispensable part during the journey, including grilled pork, steamed glutinous rice with ant eggs, colourful steamed glutinous rice, fish on Cam Son lake…
The hilly gardens in Luc Ngan can lure visitors all the year round to enjoy the rustic and friendly beauty. Coming here in spring, visitor will immerge in bunches of flowers of lychee, apricot, plum. In summer, the reddish ripen lychee orchards seem to be a light amid the green tree. Amid cold winter, the orange and pomelo gardens are laden with fruits awaiting for lunar New Year festival.
The district bears a distinguish image in each season which give tourist a space to rest or keep good moment in fine photo. The flowers and fruits in the hilly garden surely help us have much more friendly view to normal life.
Chairman of the People’s Committee in Quy Son commune Tran Van Ban informed that the commune has about 2,800 ha of fruit tree, including 2,100 ha of lychee cultivation. Thus, lychee becomes key crop in economic development in Quy Son commune and Luc Ngan district.
Quy Son lychees are not only an agriculture product to export to China, Japan and the US but also adorable subject for tourism sector in Luc Ngan in particular and Bac Giang in general. “Orchard tour” package has been established in this land.

The community based tourism is realized by Bau Tien Cooperative. Several households knew to integrate lychee and flower cultivation to attract visitors. This form of tourism has been widely developed in the district such as Northeast Culture Tourism Service Cooperative in Chu town, An Phu Tourism and Trading Cooperative in Tan Son commune, Community Based Tourism Cooperative in Tan Quang commune…
Thus, the farmers under 4.0 era not only think about the furrow work but also have farther vision to attach agriculture production with tourism service which is a promising trend in Luc Ngan district.
However, the current infrastructure was not suitable. The road, landscape, accommodation seemed not to meet the standard of non-smoke industry while there was few of highlights for visitors.
It is necessary to beautify the fruit gardens, construct the road and pathway to each orchard as well as harmonize the natural landscape with man-made beauties.
Luc Ngan now gets richer and more beautiful in a near future. The magnificent picture will be created via harmonious beauty by nature and artificial landscapes. It will be Luc Ngan district now and tomorrow.
