KOICA supports fostering social integration skills for people with disabilities

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) organised a ceremony on June 26 to present charity gifts worth a total of 11,400 USD to the Nghi Luc Song (Will to Live) Company, a social enterprise that supports fostering social integration skills and employment for people with disabilities.

The gifts given included air-conditioners, multi-air conditioners, and automatic doors.

The gift-giving ceremony was attended by leaders of KOICA, Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC), Will to Live Company and KOICA. This is an activity within the framework of a project to support young people with disabilities to improve their economic independence and a vocational training project on artificial intelligence. The projects aim to improve information technology capacity and job search ability of people with disabilities.

Within the framework of the gift-giving ceremony, students of the AJC organised exchange activities on arts and teaching skills for the students at the Will to Live Company.

Ngo Thi Hong Minh, Director of Will to Live Company highly appreciated KOICA's support for disadvantaged people. She said, “KOICA not only accompanies us in providing financial support but also provides valuable resources and Korean experience. This support helps us build an effective vocational training model towards an equal and inclusive society.”

Cho Han-Deog, Country Director of KOICA Vietnam affirmed, “KOICA is ready to support disadvantaged groups through the KOICA Club. We strive for the goal of promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in society through sharing, inspiring and supporting development resources.”.

Assoc. Prof. Pham Minh Son, Director of the AJC, affirmed the Academy's commitment to community activities. In addition, the mission of training and scientific research, the Academy accompanies KOICA in charity events.

He said that gifts given are not only of material value but also an expression of the heart of love, sharing and full of respect for the members of Will to Live Company. He hopes that the Academy, KOICA, and the Will to Live Company will continue to strengthen their cooperation in the coming years.

The Will to Live Company works in the field of comprehensive integration support for people with disabilities through free IT vocational training and life skills to help people with disabilities find suitable jobs. Every year, KOICA Vietnam spends different amounts on supporting disadvantaged groups in society through the KOICA Club.
