Luc Ngan’s Fruit Fair to take place from 24 to 29 November

(BGO)-The People's Committee of Luc Ngan district and the provincial Department of Information and Communication of Bac Giang province jointly held a press conference on the organization of the Luc Ngan fair of orange, pomelo and local signature products 2018 on November 14. The conference drew the attendance of many journalists and reporters from central and provincial press agencies.

According to the representative of the People’s Committee of Luc Ngan district, Luc Ngan has some 27,000 hectares of fruits including 15,300 hectares of lychee (the biggest area in Northern Vietnam) with the productivity of 100,000 tonnes per year. In addition, the district has 6,400 hectares of grapefruits with this year’s output of some 53,000 tonnes while other products like logan, guava and small apples yield ten thousands of tonnes per each crop.

Besides, this district is home to some traditional typical products including Chu rice noodle, Nghia Ho honey, Kim Ngan lychee vinegar.

At the conference, the reporters raised some questions on new points of the fruit fair, preparation for the event venue, security and order, productivity and quality of the products and benefits from the fruit fair.

Replying these questions, representative of Luc Ngan People’s Committee said, after drawing experience from the previous events, the district’s People’s Committee invested to improve the district’s Center Square to ensure space for the fair.

In response to the “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese products” campaign, the district’s People’s Committee will provide booths for 30 communes and towns in the district to sell fruits and their signature products. 

Besides, they encourage the participation of firms and cooperatives to exhibit their qualified consumer goods. The district’s People’s Committee expected to change the fruit festival into the fruit fair to create the supply-demand linkage and improve quality of the products. This event will take place from 24 to 29 November.

Fruit, vegetable exports valued at 3.3 billion USD
Vietnam earned some 3.3 billion USD from vegetable and fruit exports during January-October, up 15.5 percent from the same time last year, the Agro Processing Market Development Authority (AgroTrade) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has said.

(BGO) – According to the Division of Agriculture and  Rural Development in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province, the district has more than 6,400 hectares growing citrus trees.

Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable export revenues were estimated at US$346 million in August 2018, bringing the total value in the first eight months of the year to US$2.7 billion, up 14.1% compared to the same period of 2017.
