Medical facilities in Bac Giang pay high attention to Covid-19 prevention
Facing complicated developments of Covid-19 outbreak, the provincial General Hospital has closely supervised people coming and leaving the hospital to prevent the pandemic spread. From 3,000 to 3,200 people are at the hospital everyday.

According to doctor Nguyen Nhu Pho, Vice Director of the Hospital, the hospital only opens gate No 1 as the entrance and gate No 2 on Le Loi district as the exit. Visitors are not allowed to all departments and patients’ rooms. Each patient is taken care by 1 person who is required medical declaration with contact details.
At the gate No 1, the hospital arranges on-duty team including 3 medical workers to supervise and require people coming into the hospital to wear face mask and wash hands with sanitizer.
The Clinic Department conducted screening check and patient classification to arrange separate areas for suspected patients to prevent cross infection. In order to reduce crowded gatherings, the department will change the place for outpatient clinic service since 3 August.
Those who come to check for high blood pressure, hepatitis and HIV will be advised to visit the on-demand clinic department at Gate No 4 on Nguyen Van Cu street. Out patients with chronic disease having stable indices will be rescheduled testing and medicine taking period from once per month to once per 2 months.
The provincial Oncology Hospital receives about 700 to 800 people daily, most of whom are tumor-related complicated cases. The Hospital has rapidly implemented preventive measures against Covid-19 to avoid risks of cross infection.
Particularly, they required patients and their relatives to implement health declaration while moving the patients with cough and fever symptoms or having epidemiological factors to separate treatment rooms. The medical staff has to wear protective equipment when visiting and checking these cases.
The Infection Control Department guided the rooms to ensure 2-metre distance between patients’ beds and required sanitation workers to regularly clean the patients’ rooms, sterilize the doorknobs, stairs and toilets. Especially, the wastes from isolated patients’ rooms must be collected and separately treated according to regulated procedures.
This time, the medical facilities in the province have reported some suspected cases undergoing isolated treatment.
On 2 August morning, the Infectious Department of Yen Dung district Medical Center was treating 2 patients with cough and fever symptoms who returned from Da Nang since 25 July.
These patients are considered potential SARS-CoV-2 infection source from the biggest pandemic outbreak nationwide to Bac Giang, hence the Center arranged them to be treated in separate rooms. Both of them were taken diagnostic test for Covid-19.

Currently, the provincial Department of Health requires the medical units to continue reinforce and re-activate the Covid-19 fighting system at all levels. It is urgent to strictly implement protective measures according to directions with high concentration without underestimation.
All medical facilities in the province need to continue classifying patients. Any suspected cases with epidemiological factors or without epidemiological factors which have not been found certain causes are taken test specimen for SAR-CoV-2.
Drug stores must write down name, address and phone number of the costumers having flu, cough and fever symptoms and notify the medical station for taking management and supervision measures.
