Over 900 billion VND invested in national road No.31 passing Bac Giang province

(BGO) – Directorate for Roads of Vietnam submitted to get the Ministry of Transport (MoT)’s review and approval for investment policy in revamping and upgrading project of national road No.31 passing Bac Giang province, MoT reported on June 18. 

Accordingly, the project will receive total investment of 910 billion VND (39.5 million USD) from mid-term public investment plan for the period 2021 – 2025, including nearly 540 billion VND for construction cost, 205 billion VND for land clearance work and 117 billion VND for reserve cost and others.

A severely degraded section of National Road No.31.

The project is expected to be commenced in the first quarter of 2022 and completed to put in use after 18 months of construction.

It aims to upgrade national road No.31 with total length of nearly 37km, starting from Km2+400 (intersection of national road No.1) in Dinh Tri commune (Bac Giang city) and ending at Km14+900 (T-junction of provincial road No.290) in Hong Giang commune (Luc Ngan district).

Up on completion, the project will help promote the development of concentrated industrial parks, processing zones, factories, commercial centers, tourism and service..., especially lychee growing areas in Luc Ngan and Luc Nam districts so as to accelerate the economic growth, cultural exchange, particularly in mountainous and remote areas.

The project also reinforces the traffic system in close connection with strategic route of national defence development to enhance the mobility for national defence forces in the North East region of the country while gradually completing the road in line with the plan scale to ensure a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure.
