The result placed Bac Ninh second among northern provinces and seventh nationwide in terms of timber output. Average productivity reached 125 cubic metres per hectare over a five-year cycle, equivalent to 152% of the annual plan.
Notably, large-diameter timber accounted for more than 700,000 cubic metres or 46% of total output, highlighting the effectiveness of the province’s policy shift from small-diameter timber plantations to large-timber forestry in order to increase economic value.
In addition, timber harvested from scattered tree planting reached 37,780 cubic metres, helping supplement raw material supplies for local processing and consumption.
Thanks to effective harvesting combined with forest planting and management, the province’s forestry production value reached 2,363 billion VND (103.8 million USD) in 2025, up 5.3% from 2024, the sub-department said.
The growth made an important contribution to overall agricultural expansion while creating jobs and stable livelihoods for residents in forested areas, particularly in midland and mountainous regions.
