In Quang Tri, alongside Son Doong, the largest natural cave in the world, other notable sites within the Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park and the Tan Hoa region will also be featured, showcasing their awe-inspiring beauty to a global audience.
The film will star celebrated Indian actors Sadia Khateeb and Harshvardhan Rane in the major roles. The production crew is expected to spend about three weeks filming in Quang Tri.
According to Nguyen Chau A, CEO of Oxalis Adventure, the official operator of Son Doong Cave tours, the crew for “Silaa” has signed an agreement with the company to film several key scenes inside the cave.
Of the 100 members, only 12 will be permitted to enter Son Doong for filming, while other scenes will be shot at Tien Cave, Tu Lan Cave, and Chuot Cave, all located in the Tan Hoa area.
This marks the first time an Indian feature film has selected Viet Nam as its primary filming location, with approximately 95% of the film’s runtime set in the country. “Silaa” is scheduled for release in 2026 and is expected to be widely distributed internationally.
Earlier, during the Asian Film Festival held in Da Nang from late June to early July, the Indo-Vietnamese film “Love in Viet Nam” premiered, representing the first cinematic cooperation between the two countries.
“Love in Viet Nam” tells the story of an Indian man who travels to Viet Nam and falls in love with a local woman, taking audiences on a journey across various regions filled with engaging and unexpected encounters. The film was directed and written by Rahhat Shah Kazmi and produced by Captain Rahul Bali.
Following “Love in Viet Nam”, “Silaa” is expected to attract considerable attention from Bollywood audiences and those who love the pristine and majestic beauty of Viet Nam's landscapes.
