Duong Thi Loi, Chairwoman of the provincial Association for Protection of Children's Rights, said: "Basing on the specific circumstance of each student, we will encourage benefactors to provide practical help. For orphans who are living with their weak grandparents, the monthly sponsorship is the most effective and sustainable support solution. For other cases, we grant scholarships and provide partial support to encourage them to rise up in life."
With the support of the programme, every year dozens of students have a chance to enter colleges and universities. In addition, nearly 100 students win the titles of good students and excellent student.
The programme has also contributed to incubating the seeds of kindness when students who graduate or continue their study still keep in touch with the members of the programme’s Organizing Committee. Many of them connect sponsorship channels or are ready to be an inspirer, sharing their stories to energize children with difficult circumstances.
As one of the students receiving the support of the programme since its inception, for many years in a row, Nguyen Phuong Mai from Dong Cua residential area, Le Loi ward, Bac Giang city was given a monthly scholarship until she finished high school. She was an orphan living with her old grandmother, so the funding from the programme was very significant for her on the journey to school.
Now, the energetic female student has graduated from university and secures a job with good income at an enterprise in the province. The life of Mai and her grandmother is also less difficult.
Spreading the meaning of humanity
In order not to interrupt the support for children during the Covid-19 epidemic, in the past two years, the provincial Association for Protection of Children's Rights, Bac Giang Newspaper, and the provincial Study Promotion Association have been active, determined and responsible in mobilizing resources for the programme. In parallel with persuading benefactors to accompany the programme, member agencies of the Organizing Committee directly sponsored a number of poor students with good academic performance with 300,000-500,000 VND (12.7-21.2 USD) per month.

It has received the support of 37 agencies, units, businesses and benefactors inside and outside the province with a total amount of over 460 million VND (19,550 USD) both in cash and in kind.
Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Bac Giang Newspaper Cao Minh Ngoc said that besides the annual sponsors such as Bac Giang Real Estate Association, Agribank Bac Giang II and Traffic Police Department under the provincial Police, with the motto of "giving is forever", "giving the best to children", this year many other benefactors have committed to supporting the programme, even some cases asked to remain anonymous.
Thanks to those kind hearts, every year hundreds of disadvantaged students in the province have the opportunity to go to school, study and rise up in life. The sharing and joining hands of kind hearts contributes to embellishing the fine traditions of the nation.
