Provincial leaders receive Vietnam- Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group and Ambassador of Ukraine to Vietnam

(BGO)- Duong Van Thai, member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies of Bac Giang province on July 6 received Vietnam- Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group and Ambassador of Ukraine to Vietnam Gaman Oleksandr. The event was attended by the deputies to the National Assembly (NA) in the province.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Duong Van Thai warmly welcomed and extended his thanks to Ambassador Gaman Oleksandr and other delegates from Ukraine Embassy and Vietnam- Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group for visiting Bac Giang province.

On introducing about potentials and strengths of the province, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee said, Bac Giang province has effectively promoted its potentials and advantages to foster development in all sectors and gained impressive results in recent years.

Currently, there are a large number of enterprises from 14 countries investing in Bac Giang province but there is not any project from Ukraine.

“We hope that after this visit, H.E. Ambassador and the esteemed staff from the Embassy of Ukraine will have good impression of the land and people of Bac Giang and understand more about the local situation, potentials and advantages, thereby opening up new opportunities for cooperation between Bac Giang and Ukraine partners in various fields contributing to fostering and deepening the Vietnam- Ukraine friendly, cooperative and traditional relations over the 30 years”, stressed the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

At their first visit to Bac Giang, Deputy Chairman of the NA’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group was impressed by the socio-economic development of Bac Giang province in recent years. He expected that after this trip, the Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group would gain more information about Bac Giang’s land and people as well as investment opportunities in the province.

He added, Ukraine has advantages in agriculture especially cultivating wheat. Besides, its shipbuilding industry is also developed. The Group will do their best to boost the cooperative relations between Ukraine and Bac Giang province.

Ambassador Gaman Oleksandr thanked leaders of Bac Giang province for their warm reception. The Ambassador took his mission in Vietnam in May 2022 and this was his first trip to a province as the Ambassador to Vietnam. The Ambassador said would spend more time to study about the localities in Vietnam including Bac Giang province, thereby boosting the relations between the two nations in many fields.

Besides, the Ambassador will introduce investors and enterprises of Ukraine’s strengths to seek investment opportunities in Bac Giang.

On the same day, Vietnam- Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, Ambassador of Ukraine and the working delegation visit the lychee growing area in Luc Ngan district.
