A 3-meter-long Indian python is handed over to forest rangers, December 2 2022.

He called out to neighbors and they teamed up to catch it and put it in a cage.

According to the rangers, the Indian python (Python molurus) weighed more than 10kg and was about 3 meters long.

The snake is native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia and belongs to an endangered, rare and precious wildlife species in group IIB of Vietnam's Red List.

Although smaller than its close relative the Burmese python, the Indian python is still among the largest snakes in the world.

Last month, a three-meter-long Burmese python was found on the banks of a canal in HCMC’s District 12 and handed over to the municipal forest department.
