RoK firms present scholarships to 90 outstanding Vietnamese students

Representatives of Republic of Korea (RoK) companies operating in Vietnam granted 90 scholarships worth a total VND900 million (US$38,700) to 90 needy Vietnamese students who have recorded outstanding academic results at a programme held in Hanoi on December 17.

The Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam (KORCHAM) held "The Night of CSR (corporate social responsibility) by RoK Enterprises" and the scholarship presentation ceremony entitled "Together We Share" on December 17, with the aim of providing support for Vietnamese students and demonstrating social responsibilities of RoK companies.

The event is held annually to encourage RoK companies to carry out activities for the development of Vietnamese society, thus enhancing the bilateral cooperation of both countries.

Scholarship winners are students recommended by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and other agencies which have provided considerable support for the operations of RoK firms in Vietnam.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep spoke highly of social activities that RoK companies have carried out in Vietnam, noting that RoK firms have actively assisted the MOLISA in vocational training and creating more job opportunities for Vietnamese laborers.

Diep also affirmed Vietnam's commitments in continuing to advocate RoK firms in maintaining and boosting their long-term business in Vietnam.

Representatives from KORCHAM said that it will always stand side by side with RoK companies to build a better investment environment and duplicate SCR activities to support Vietnamese students for the prosperous future of Vietnam.

Deputy PM presents gifts, scholarships to poor families, students
Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and a delegation from the Government Office have recently presented 50 houses worth 3.5 billion VND (150,500 USD) and a number of scholarships to poor households and students in border communes of Tan Bien district, the southern province of Tay Ninh.
 
520 scholarships of “Because you love studying” presented to Luc Ngan’s students
(BGO) – The programme of “Because you love studying” was jointly held on August 30 by the provincial Study Encouragement Association in the northern province of Bac Giang, Department of Education and Training and Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, Bac Giang Branch (Viettel Bac Giang) in Phong Van Primary and Secondary Schools in Luc Ngan district. 
 
Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Ngoc Son wins prestigious Fulbright Scholarship
(BGO)- Nguyen Ngoc Son, former Secretary of the Youth Union, Deputy Head of Division of Planning and Financing, the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment is one of the two outstanding Vietnamese young public servants passing thousands of global candidates to win the Hubert. H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, a Fulbright Scholarship. Currently, he is studying at the University of California, the U.S.  
 
8.5 billion VND in Lawrence Ting scholarships presented to students
The Lawrence S. Ting Memorial Fund and Phu My Hung Development Corporation have recently presented nearly 8.5 billion VND (365,500 USD) worth of scholarships to 371 students in Ho Chi Minh City and a number of charity and study encouragement organizations.
 
9 Bac Giang’s students awarded Vallet scholarship in 2018
(BGO) – 9 students from the northern province of Bac Giang have been awarded Vallet scholarship in the academic year 2018 in Hanoi Opera House, namely Trinh Duy Hieu, Ly Thi Kieu Diem, Nguyen Dinh Hai, Tran Dinh Quoc Bao, Giap Thi Thu Thao, Nguyen Dieu Linh (Bac Giang Highschool for Gifted Students); Ngo Duy Khanh, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Luu Toan Thang (Ngo Si Lien Highschool in Bac Giang city).
