Solidarity in the storm: Bac Ninh stands with flood victims

Updated: 11:00, 10/10/2025

BAC NINH  - Relentless storms and flooding have battered northern provinces of Vietnam, leaving a trail of destruction and displacing countless families. In the face of adversity, the spirit of solidarity and compassion has shone through. Party committees, authorities, and residents of Bac Ninh province have come together to support communities severely impacted by the natural disasters.

Looking toward flood-hit communities

Despite prolonged heavy rains triggered by successive storms, the people of Bac Ninh – from public officials to private enterprises – have swiftly provided aid to those affected by the flooding.

Leaders from the Bac Ninh Fatherland Front Committee receive donations from BIDV branches in the province.

Responding to a call from the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, local business Phuong Hoang International Group (Vu Ninh ward) donated 600 million VND (22,700 USD) to support flood victims.

"Though modest, our contribution reflects our sincere desire to help those in urgent need," said Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the company. "We understand the hardship that follows natural disasters, and we want to be part of the recovery effort."

Such acts go beyond material aid – they inspire social unity and reaffirm the vital role of corporate social responsibility.

While many schools across the province were inundated, forcing students to pause their study, Bac Ninh’s education sector worked tirelessly to maintain teaching and learning wherever possible.

In a moving show of support, teachers in unaffected areas donated part of their salaries and gathered clothes and essential school supplies for colleagues and students in flood-hit regions.

Students also joined in – giving breakfast allowances, breaking open piggy banks, and donating savings to help their peers.

Within a short span, the education sector raised over 2 billion VND (75,900 USD) in voluntary donations. The campaign served not only as humanitarian aid but also as a powerful lesson in empathy for young learners.

Beyond financial donations, many individuals and local organisations focused on collecting food, medicine, and daily essentials. Community groups and volunteers across Bac Ninh launched relief drives, assembling emergency kits for delivery to disaster zones.

Humanity endures after storms and flooding

As the floodwaters recede, the compassion of the community remains strong. Party committees, authorities, and socio-political organisations across the province have launched cost-effective, high-impact initiatives to support disaster-stricken areas.

Driven by the principle “Give what you can – more or less, it all counts,” the Bac Ninh Fatherland Front Committee raised over 5.7 billion VND in just a few days, alongside a large volume of food and supplies.

The committee quickly set up a coordinated network to receive and distribute aid, ensuring transparency and urgency in delivering relief. The goal is clear: to reach those in need swiftly and efficiently.

In addition, many residents and philanthropists have provided direct aid to rescue workers and residents in the hardest-hit areas.

"We are committed to delivering timely and meaningful support," said Nguyen Thi Ha, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee. "Our goal is to provide the highest level of assistance possible, tailored to real needs on the ground. Every donation is a valuable source of strength for communities working to recover and rebuild."
