Updated: 17:07, 23/04/2020
(BGO) – Coming to photography art with true passion, public servant Tran Van Tuan (born in 1989) in Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province has been unexpectedly won First National Prize and is one of two photographers whose photo was selected to the final round of Tourism category, 2020 Sony World Photography Awards launched by World Photography Organisation (WPO).

Comparing to many photographers in the province, Tran Van Tuan came to the art quite late because he started taking photo at his 28.

Humbly he shared: “Comparing to others, I am an amateur photographer only. I just wander around with photography art and suddenly find myself in the photo. Thanks to the art, I know more about the culture and traditional customs of Vietnamese peoples”.

The photo titled “Tea drying”.

The pieces, colours and frame in the photo gradually keep him closer to the photography art. He started taking photo of relatives, family, grass, flower... as timidly as the character of the young man in Phoenix land

It is such a sophisticated career so he studies everything from the sharing on the internet about the history of photography, the way to keep the camera, basic factor for a photo...

The photo titled “Mud wrestling in Van village” wins First Prize at 2019 Bac Giang Tourism Photo Contest launched by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The photo records the vibrant moment of a traditional mud wrestling match in Tho Ha village, Van Ha commune (Viet Yen district).

His first photos with lots of mistakes like loss of sharpness, lack of light, loose layout...inspired him more to the art of photography. Later on Tuan makes friends with many young photographers such as Nguyen Huu Thong, Dang Giang, Nguyen Thanh Son ...and got their instruction, encouragement to participate in some photography contest and exhibition.

He accumulates the salary to buy camera so as to find a suitable accompanying friend. As a public servant, Tuan only satisfies his passion on weekend.

The photo titled “Mechanized agriculture” is taken by flycamera on the rice harvest season in October 2019 in Dong Viet commune (Yen Dung district) where he was born and grown-up.

With the simple thought “the closet place is good topic for nice photos”, Tuan’s photo store of thousand pieces is mostly about his homeland – Yen Dung. Somewhere, they are Vinh Nghiem pagoda, the yellow paddy field laden with rice on harvest season, Red silk cotton flower in Lang Son commune in March, yellow daisy season in Xuan Phu commune or the vast green field in Tien Dung commune...

For recent two years, Tuan has loved to take photo from the flycamera (drone). The photo taken from above is very attractive to the viewer, thus he wants to try his best to boast his creative ideas and gain more achievements.
