Supervise health condition of immigrated experts and labourers

(BGO) – To well control over Covid-19 pandemic, the northern province of Bac Giang has continued instructing to strictly prevent and manage the source of infection from the immigrated experts and labourers.

Recently, Covid-19 pandemic has been well controlled in our country. Many foreign invested projects have been vibrant again since March 2021, bringing 1,081 foreign technicians and experts to the local industrial parks and clusters.

Since April 4, the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control (Steering Committee) has continuously recorded 5 imported cases of Covid-19 who were put in concentrated medical isolation at the Vocational School No.12 (old) in Voi town (Lang Giang district).

According to Lam Van Tuan, Director of provincial Center of Disease Control (CDC), to prevent the risk of Covid-19 infection from immigrated people, the foreign experts and labourers were taken oropharynx samples for testing by CDC in the first day of isolation. Any case with symptom of cough and fever will stay at private room.

Sojo hotel in Bac Giang city now has 55 foreign technicians and experts who are in concentrated isolation. The Management Board has arranged 4 floors, 1 elevator with separate partitions to serve the quarantined cases. The Steering Committee assigned 2 working shifts from CDC to supervise health condition of the isolated cases while the Public Security from Bac Giang city will be on duty for 14 days then switch to next shift.

Chau Building in Dao Ngan village, Quang Chau commune (Viet Yen district) firstly welcomed 101 foreigners to isolate from April 9. Annually, the health workers check the body temperature and strictly monitor the condition of each person.

Now, the province has 675 foreigners under concentrated isolation. The immigrated persons to work in Bac Giang are quarantined at 10 out of 21 sites in the province.

Live safely with the disease

Targeting to firmly keep the safe location, prevent the community infection, quickly recover and develop the business and production activities, the Steering Committee ordered all levels, sectors, districts, city, units and businesses to seriously implement the disease prevention measures.

The Department of Labour, War Invalid and Social Affairs has coordinated with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Management Board controlling the provincial industrial parks to instruct the enterprises to proceed the procedures of immigration, receive the qualified document to submit to the provincial People’s Committee to approve for the foreign experts and labourers to enter and work at the companies in the province.

The Steering Committee requested to review and tightly check the certificate of SASR-CoV-2 negative before receiving the immigrants to isolate at the sites.

Besides, to screen the risk, many FDI enterprises requested the provincial CDC to take sample for Covid-19 testing for their labourers. On April 3, the provincial CDC took 13 samples of the technicians working at Foxcorn Precision Electronic Co.,Ltd then proved negative to the disease. Previously, they took samples for second testing for the experts at Crystal Martin Vietnam Co.,Ltd in Quang Chau industrial parks (Viet Yen district) and also tested negative to the novel corona virus.

Director of Health Department and Vice Head of the Steering Committee Tu Quoc Hieu said Bac Giang province always pays due attention to strictly controlling over the source of infection and determines to keep safe situation to avoid the infection.

These days, the Steering Committee has instructed the People’s Committee in Luc Ngan district to coordinate with Health Department to prepare the isolation programme, monitor health condition of the immigrated traders to buy lychee so as to effectively prevent the disease and help the farmers to sell the products.
