Taiwanese firm explores investment opportunities in Bac Ninh
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh city authorities are ready to facilitate investment and expansion plans by Taiwanese technology group AVC, including the development of manufacturing supply chains and research and development (R&D) activities in the city.
Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, held a meeting on September 29 with AVC Vietnam Science and Technology Co Ltd to discuss the city's investment environment, supply chain expansion and potential R&D development.

AVC, a technology group established in Taiwan in 1991, designs and manufactures thermal solutions and components for computers, servers and telecommunications equipment, as well as other high-tech products.
The group reported revenue of about 4.4 billion USD in 2025 and has more than 46,000 employees worldwide, including about 14,000 in Vietnam. Its R&D operations have more than 3,500 technical experts.
AVC began expanding its investment in Vietnam in 2020 and currently has three projects in Ninh Binh province with total registered capital of about 760 million USD.
The group plans to expand its operations in 2027 with an additional investment of about 500 million USD, bringing its total investment in Vietnam to more than 1.26 billion USD.
AVC Chief Financial Officer Kuo Shih-Tang discussed Vietnam's investment environment, incentives for high-tech companies, opportunities to expand production supply chains and develop R&D activities.
He also expressed interest in Bac Ninh's location, potential and advantages, particularly opportunities to expand manufacturing supply chains and R&D operations.
At the meeting, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Pham Hoang Son welcomed the AVC delegation and outlined Bac Ninh's advantages in developing the electronics, high-tech, chip and semiconductor industries.
Bac Ninh currently has about 3,700 active foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of around $52 billion from nearly 50 countries and territories, including many Taiwanese companies.

Under the city's 2021-2030 master plan with a vision to 2050, Bac Ninh has 91 industrial parks covering a planned area of 25,000 hectares. Investment policies have been approved for 39 industrial parks, with investors selected.
The city currently has more than 600 hectares of ready-to-use land in industrial parks available for investors, with another 400 hectares expected to be added by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
Alongside its infrastructure and workforce advantages, the provincial leader highlighted investment incentives available to businesses and pledged maximum support in administrative procedures to help investors quickly develop and put projects into operation.
“Bac Ninh is ready to accompany AVC and facilitate its continued research, surveys and exploration of investment opportunities in the city,” he said.
