Tapping potentials of digital economy to promote OCOP products
The forum was attended by Ngo Van Cuong, Secretary of the HCM CYU cum Chief of HCM CYU Inspection Commission and Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Speaking at the event, the provincial permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son stressed that Bac Giang province has 205 OCOP products so far. The recognized OCOP products have been improved in quantity, design and quality while groups of regional signature products have been established to meet the market demand.
The province has recently gained remarkable results in digital transformation. This forum focused on seeking solutions to apply digital transformation in promoting OCOP products of Bac Giang province, contributing to enhancing efficiency of the province’s OCOP programme in the future.
The HCM CYU Secretary Ngo Van Cuong expected young labour force in Bac Giang province to effectively exploit potentials of digital economy in promoting OCOP products. The forum aimed to empower the entities, businesses and local people to access to necessary knowledge and skills for digital-based development, mindset improvement and tap potentials of digital economy.
At this forum, the participants discussed the contents: (i) exploiting potentials of digital economy in promotion and consumption of OCOP products, (ii) digital economy from the view of e-commerce, (iii) promoting the native resources on digital space. Besides, a number of successful sellers from different regions nationwide shared their experience about working on digital platforms, particularly how to build the sale channels, thereby affirming high efficiency of e-commerce business especially livestream method which is possible to gain millions of view and contacts with close rate.

Previously, 40 TikTok content creators gathered at Kep 1 village, Hong Giang commune, Luc Ngan district to sell some signature OCOP products of Bac Giang province such as lychee, Chu rice noodle and cordyceps through livestreaming from 9 to 13.45 on June 24.
Particularly, the “OCOP fair” programme on TikTok shop themed “discovering Bac Giang’s specialties” was jointly held by TikTok Vietnam, Agritrade, HCM CYU, HOTCOM MCN and Kolin MCN.
The hastag “OCOP fair” on TikTok shop “discovering Bac Giang’s specialties” attracted 4.5 million views.
During the 4-hour period, the content creators had implemented 26 livestreams with nearly 1.7 million views gaining 5,182 orders at the total revenue of 1.2 billion VND (51,300 USD). Besides, the TikTokers had carried out 40 videos promoting Bac Giang province from June 21 – 24 which attracted over 20 million views.
