The programme is being implemented at the direction of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, with the coordination of the Ministry of National Defence, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, the general’s family, the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre, and the Vietnam Military History Museum.

The programme features conversations with guests at historical sites.

The four-part TV special contributes to depicting a clear portrait of Vo Nguyen Giap - a celebrated general with a world-shocking cause of national liberation, a history teacher with faithful patriotism, and a person with a simple, moderate and humane lifestyle.

“Vietnamese Heart” brings the audience back to the important historical milestones of the country. The special narration throughout the programme is the memoir of General Giap. During his life of revolutionary operation and struggling, the general’s valuable memories were meticulously recorded in the memoir’s pages. 

These historical documents contain General Giap’s affection for beloved Uncle Ho, his dedication to the cause of national liberation, as well as the qualities of the Vietnam People's Army and the nation, as evidenced by the fire and bullets of war.

In addition to a series of reportages and reenactments of the historical atmosphere and timelines associated with the general’s name, the programme also brings emotional conversations from the perspective of the guests, recorded by the crew right at the historical sites.

Unique art performances will also be featured during the programme, showing the love for the country as well as the Vietnamese spirit.

Conducted during the days when the whole country is struggling to combat Covid-19, the “Vietnam Heart” programme contributes to evoking faith, determination and solidarity among the people in fighting and pushing back the pandemic.
