US TechGirls programme seeks Vietnamese candidates

The US Mission to Vietnam has announced the 2022 TechGirls programme, designed for high school-aged girls from 36 countries including Vietnam who have an interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Female students with good English ability in grade 10 and 11 at Vietnamese high schools who wish to pursue higher education and careers in science and technology can participate in the programme.

Selected candidates must demonstrate leadership through academic performance, contributions to the community, as well as extracurricular activities.

The application deadline is January 15, 2022. Three full scholarships will be presented to the three best Vietnamese female students participating in this programme.

The 2022 programme will consist of 111 girls from 36 countries, in addition to 25 from the United States, to participate in a 4-week US-based experience with a 7-month mentoring programme (including pre- and post-exchange).

The programme is scheduled to take place at Virginia Tech University in July and August 2022.
