Vietnam wins gold medal at International Circus Festival

Vietnamese circus duo Hien Phuoc and Thanh Hoa from the Phuong Nam Art Theatre have won a gold medal at the Kazakhstan International Circus Festival 2023, held from July 26 to 30 in Almaty city.
The Vietnamese artists were awarded gold for their swing act entitled ‘Khoanh Khac Tinh Yeu’ (The Moment of Love). This is their first gold medal at an international circus festival.

The festival brought together more than 100 circus artists from 16 delegations with various acts imbued with their national cultural identities.
The Vietnamese delegations to the festival included a team from the Vietnam Circus Federation and one from the Ho Chi Minh City-based Phuong Nam Art Theatre.
At the closing ceremony, the organising board presented three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals to the best acts.
Bringing the cultural space of the Central Highlands to the circus stage
The Vietnam Circus Federation has recently introduced to the public, a circus play entitled ‘Flame of Love in the Plateau’. Through the language of the circus, combined with many other art forms, the play creates a cultural space imbued with the identities of the Central Highlands region.

After bringing home the Gold prize at the 2022 International Circus Festival, and then the Bronze Award at the "Without Borders" International Circus Festival, which were held in Russia in late October and early December, respectively, the Vietnamese circus artists continued to make bold impressions on the international audience at the International Circus 2022, which recently wrapped up in Hanoi.
