Vifoco introduces local farm produce to foreign markets

(BGO) – While many enterprises in the northern province of Bac Giang have recently got serious impact by Covid-19 pandemic, Vifoco Import Export Joint Stock Company (Vifoco) has kept stable operation by purchasing the local farm produce, processing them and exporting various products regularly as inked contracts.

According to Vifoco Director Nguyen Xuan Viet, after researching the market, in 2008 he decided to establish an enterprise and invest in agriculture and rural area. He targets to link, produce, process and export agriculture products to the major markets of Republic of Korea (RoK), Russia and European countries.

After years of production linkage with the famers in the provincial localities, Vifoco has to date built many concentrated production areas such as pumpkin in Tan Yen district; sweet corn in Tan Yen and Lang Giang districts; potato in Yen Dung, Luc Nam, Tan Yen, Lang Giang districts; cucumber in Tan Yen and Luc Nam districts among others.

Thanks to the deal of product consumption in implementing these above models with Vifoco, the farmers comfortably coordinate with the company for long time.

Annually, Vifoco buys and processes more than 1,400 tonnes of pumpkin; 1,200 tonnes of sweet corn; nearly 1,000 tonnes of potato; 700 tonnes of lychee and other vegetables and roots with revenue of 2 million USD per year.

Now, Vifoco employs 20 regular labors with average salary of 7 – 10 million VND (301 – 431 USD) per person per month as well as 50 seasonal workers with stable income.

To enhance the product quality and offer the best service to customer, Vifoco has continuously invested in renovate the production equipment, following the quality management system ISO- HACCP 9001-2015.

The Vifoco’s major export market includes RoK, Russia and European countries. However, it is testing the linkage model of growing Japanese pumpkin in Viet Yen district with positive result. This product can be a major item of Vifoco to export to Japan in the time to come.

Regarding the operational orientation, Viet shared Vifoco will further invests in automatic machine and equipment to increase the product quality; especially the lychee processing ones so as to provide the product to the customers all the year round.

Vifoco has invested in a production line to make canned and frozen lychee. In this lychee season, the company has supplied to the supermarkets, chains of safe food in the country with revenue of 10 billion VND (431,000 USD).

(BGO) – Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) has many signature products preferred by a wide range of customers such as Thai Son glutinous rice, Hoang Luong water dropwort and Van Chung cake among others. The district is now highly focusing on increasing the productivity and quality as well as building the trademark to improve the economic value for the farm produce.
