Yen The prioritises investment resources for transport infrastructure

Updated: 21:24, 30/03/2024

BAC GIANG - Thanks to effective mobilisation and exploitation of resources, many transportation and essential infrastructure projects in Yen The district have been implemented, contributing to promoting the district's socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.

New projects underway
Near noon, the construction site of the project to renovate and upgrade a road from Bo Ha town through Dong Son commune (Yen The) to Dong Bac Vocational College in Lang Son province is bustling with workers and vehicles.

The project to renovate and upgrade the road from Bo Ha town through Dong Son commune (Yen The district) to Dong Bac Vocational College in Lang Son province is underway.

At the section passing through the headquarters of the Dong Son communal People's Committee, nearly 30 workers and more than a dozen machines and vehicles of 379 Investment Joint Stock Company are constructing the roadbed and sewage system.
After more than one year of construction, the contractor has completed nearly 70% of the workload. The road is expected to be put into operation on the occasion of National Day (September 2).
According to the district Construction Investment Project Management Unit, since 2023, 15 projects have been completed and put into operation in the district. Notable among them are renovating and upgrading the main road linking Tan Hiep, Dong Tam and Hong Ky communes; upgrading irrigation ditches from Chin Suoi lake to Gia Binh and from Chin Suoi lake to the field of Trai Moi village (Dong Huu commune); and building a bypass of National Highway 17 from Cham village to the center of Tam Tien commune.
From the fund of the National Target Programme for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the district has built six road tunnels along with a number of traffic works, classrooms, and laboratories.
The new projects not only connect localities but also open up ways to help people get rich. Pham Van Chieu, Vice Chairman of the Dong Vuong communal People's Committee, said: "When there was a plan to invest in expanding roads passing through the villages, more than 100 households with related land voluntarily donated more than 7,800sq.m of land of all types, and over 1,200sq.m of fences and auxiliary works. With wide roads, the communal People's Committee has developed eco-tourism areas and resorts in these villages."
Identifying investment priorities
Determining that expanding and upgrading roads and essential infrastructure will be a "leverage" to help the locality develop, in 2024-2025, the district will continue to allocate resources to upgrade and expand works.
Along with speeding up the construction progress and starting approved projects, the district is proposing the provincial People's Committee to allocate investment capital to renovate and upgrade a road from National Highway 17 through Tam Tien and Tien Thang communes of Yen The district to Nha Nam town in Tan Yen district; and National Highway 17’s section from Phon Xuong town to Xuan Luong commune.
In 2024, the district People's Committee will allocate capital sources to renovate and upgrade a number of degraded district and commune roads such as Dong Huu - Dong Son and Xuan Luong - Canh Nau - Dong Huu - Huong Vy; complete site clearance for and attract secondary investors to Dong Son and Tan Soi industrial clusters to create jobs for locals.
Nguyen Ngoc Son, Chairman of the district People's Committee said that based on resources, the district will balance investment capital, with priority given to asphalted or cemented the commune road system, especially in particularly difficult areas, to create momentum for synchronous and even development.
“Along with investing in projects, we request localities to launch emulation movements to raise public awareness, so that organisations and individuals voluntarily contribute their workdays and money to build new works, creating motivation for local development," he added.
