Activities mark 68th anniversary of Vietnamese volunteer army day in Lao

With the theme of “Helping others is to help yourself”, late President Ho Chi Minh on October 30th, 1949 signed in the decree to establish the Vietnamese volunteer armed forces to accompany Lao army and people in fighting against the public enemy. Dozens thousand of youths in the volunteer army were from Bac Giang province sharing the life, side by side fighting against the enemy for victories to force the USA to ink the Vientiane treaty to settle the peace in the Kingdom of a Million Elephants.
To date, the Bac Giang chapter of the Vietnamese volunteer veteran and military experts in Laos has promoted the patriotism and solidarity in supporting economic development, poverty reduction, caring for their disadvantaged teammates and beneficiary families whose son and brother sacrificed their lives in the foreign battlefield.
Addressing the ceremony, the Lieutenant-colonel Duang Maly expressed his deep delight for the bilateral friendship and affirmed a closed connection between two nations to coordinate in socio-economic development, ensure the political and defense security respecting to each other sovereignty and independence.
