* On December 3, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Tran Thanh Man received VND10 billion from the Party Committee, authorities and people of Thai Nguyen Province to support local people in central and Central Highlands regions in overcoming the losses due to recent floods.

The VFFCC President said that the financial support will be used to rebuild and repair houses for flood victims, buy learning equipment for students and provide seedlings and production materials for the locals.

*Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) and other sponsors presented money and hundreds of gifts to needy households and flood victims in Thua Thua Hue Province on December 3.

The bank also helped the locality to repair public facilities including Phu An primary school in Phu Vang District, a storm-proof house in Phong Dien District and others, with support of nearly VND300 million to each facility.

* Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) and its member companies will present 280 tonnes of NPK Phy My fertilizers to 10,000 farmer households in districts severely damaged by natural disasters in the provinces of Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue from December 1-10.

* The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs received a financial support of VND700 million from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on December 3 to help flood-affected people in Ha Tinh Province.

The aid will be used to buy breed cattle and poultry for 140 needy and policy beneficiary households in five communes of Thach Thang, Tuong Son, Thach Lac, Tan Lam Huong and Thach Dai in Thach Ha District.

Further aid packages presented to flood-hit residents in Thua Thien Hue

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man and Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented aid packages to the authorities of Thua Thien Hue Province on November 30, to help the local people in overcoming the consequences of recent storms and flood.

JICA continues to support Vietnam with Covid-19 testing equipment aid

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provided the Vietnam National Hospital of Tropical Diseases with testing equipment worth JPY60 million (US$574,698) on November 25 to help Vietnam in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
