Awards encourage young intellectuals to contribute to education innovation

Five top prizes worth VND100 million each, accompanied by the opportunity to receive development assistance for each outstanding project, will be granted to winners of the "Young Intellectuals for Education Innovation" Awards 2019, aiming to encourage youngsters to contribute their initiatives to facilitate education in Vietnam.

The launch of the 2019 awards was held in Hanoi on May 2 by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Education and Training, Thien Long Group and Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper. The programme takes place from now until November, with an online poll, a preliminary round, a final round and an award ceremony.

The organisers awarded support packages worth hundreds of millions of VND to the award-winning projects of previous years at the launch of the "Young Intellectuals for Education Innovation" Awards 2019, Hanoi, May 2, 2019.

First held in 2016, this year’s awards have been expanded to pedagogical universities nationwide while at the same time supplementing a range of valuable side prizes. Accordingly, up to five top awards worth VND100 million each will be granted to five outstanding initiatives, dedication awards worth VND10 million each will be given to the 10 remaining projects to enter the finals.

The deadline for submitting projects to the organisers is September 30. Candidates should send brief summaries of their projects to trithuctrevigiaoduc@gmail.com, along with a registration form and other annexes, images, video clips, and technical drawings attached (if any).

For more details, candidates can visit www.trithuctre.doanthanhnien.vn. The award ceremony is expected to take place on November 10.

On the occasion of the launch, the organising committee presented support packages worth hundreds of millions of VND to projects that won the awards in previous years, including the "VEC – a system to evaluate academic level using blockchain technology ", the “IOSTUDY online English learning software”, and the “Design of PSE device to help children with Down syndrome learn to read".
