The municipal VBD was firstly launched in 2009. For over 10 years, the Steering Board for VBD at all levels have actively communicated and called for the participation of a wide range of people, hence receiving nearly 7,000 blood units to save many patients.

Nguyen Huu Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang municipal People’s Committee appreciates the voluntary blood donation movement.

The city regularly organizes event to honor the typical blood donors with 587 collectives, families and individuals in 10 years. On the occasion, 189 collectives and individuals were honored and rewarded by the VBD Steeing Board at the provincial and municipal levels.

Among them, 3 typical families and 2 individuals donating blood 10 times as well as 30 individual donating blood 5 times were granted with certificate of merit and insignia by the provincial VBD Steering Board while 11 families and 123 individual who gave blood 3 times were presented certificate of merit by the municipal People’s Committee.

Previously in the honoring ceremony of provincial VBD, the municipal Red Cross Society and former Secretary of the Party Committee in Tran Nguyen Han Dang Thi Ngoc Quy were bestowed the certificate of merit by the provincial People’s Committee while the Nguyen in Tho Xuong ward; the Nguyen Van in Dinh Tri commune and 3 individuals giving blood 15 times were honored by the provincial VBD Steering Board.

Vietnam Buddhist Academy to host blood donation festival

The Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) will work together to organise a blood donation and organ donation registration festival at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Soc Son district of Hanoi on August 4.

Red Journey drive receives over 85,000 units of blood

The Red Journey blood donation campaign 2019 has received over 85,000 units of blood via 265 locations, the organising board told a conference reviewing its result in Hanoi on July 27. 

Bac Giang receives more than 1,600 blood units
